One of my buddies hunted out there this weekend. He heard a few but shut up as soon as they hit the ground. Hoping things pick up as I will be out there on the 2nd hunt too. I need to get out there to do some scouting to see what fields if any have been cut since deer season.
well hopefully some will get lost on the surrounding properties and wander onto the WMA. My buddie talked to one of the TWRA officers Friday. He said he was riding around and there was a gobbler strutting about 15 feet from a hunters parked truck. Would be my luck.
That happened to me on my first ever turkey hunt a few years ago. Parked the truck and walked about 3/4 mile and set up. He started gobbling and we slowly worked our way towards him, he was strutting 40 yards from my truck. I couldn't believe it!
