I have a wish list and at the top is a Ruger Bisley revolver. I have killed deer with all types of methods, and never with a handgun chambered in 44 mag.

I really like the Hunter model Blackhawk.

Tim, I think that would be a good choice. I have a Ruger Bisley, but it is a 32 H@R Mag.

I do have a pair of Ruger Red Hawks in 44 Mag that I like very
much.

The have only use the pistol one time to stop a hog that had turned and was coming back at me. Never shot a deer with one.

I dont care much for the bisley grips so I bought a Ruger New Model Super BlackHawk stainless 7.5" non fluted .44 mag a long time ago. Couldnt hit anything as close as 10-15yd cause Im no good with iron sights but man it was fun to shoot.

I'm more partial to the S&W 29 series. I too have never harvested a deer with a handgun...but I hope to before my eyes get too old. I really want to shoot a deer with irons on a handgun!!! If I'm gonna use glass might as well take a rifle. Just kinda defeats the purpose in my opinion.

I've seen times when deer walked in directly below my stand when a pistol would have been easier to use than a rifle. I used to have a Ruger 44 mag Blackhawk and liked it. They're strong actions and when shooting them the butts will leave dents in your truck hood until you realize what's happening. Ask me how I know. Duh! Mine was happy with 22 grs. of 2400 under a 240 gr. cast bullet. If you get one let me know and I'll put you in some reloading supplies and loaded ammo.

Whelen Man, that the same load that I use in mine. With the present 2400 they have reduced the max load to 20 grs. I still
have some old 2400, so I will still use 22 grs until it runs out.

Get it Tim, you will like it.

I`m thinkin this is a done deal. I`m gonna use the lay-a-way at work, and put that guy in there with my name on it. I just ordered a spring kit for it so I`m hooked!!
Whelen Man, I appreciate that fine jesture as I will surely be handloading for it.

Love the looks of that particular revolver!!

If you buy it I'll bring you some goodies to the shoot at Oak Ridge whenever you decide to do that shoot. Let me know. I'll have to get in the attic and see what I can find amoungst the dust.

big, I have a couple pounds of that powder I bought to use in my Savage MZ. I bet it does much better in the 44.

Whelen Man, don`t go to all that, this ios something that I probably won`t shoot a lot after finding a load it likes.

Seriously, I`d not want to see anybody go in the attic for me at all.
