covert happy with it
10.00 a month for 3 month period - activate as needed per 3 months with at & t

I have the new Covert Code Black and have not been happy with it. My main problem is the battery life. It goes dead after about a week and a half in the field. I did find out it had a firmware update that needed to be done that is suppose to help with the battery issue. If that doesn't work I will be sending it back.

Bushnell Agressor 14mp wireless. $9.99/month for 1,500 images. Start and stop plan anytime you want. great images. Here is one of my better images this season.

^^^^^ - was that the image that was sent to your phone/email (transmitted by camera), or was that the original image that was written to SD card (typically better quality)? If sent to your phone/email, that quality is top notch.

That was not the image sent to my phone although the original wasn't bad either. Here is an image as it is downloaded from the camera.

I think wireless is the future in trail cams.

Agreed...I hear more and more people talking about it. They have a 1 minute delay from what I hear and consider the advantage if some steals the camera...good chance you'll get their picture.

I have 2 of the hco Spartans.. I think they are $5 a month.. work really well

My buddies and I bought 9 of the Covert Black Ops last year and haven't been that pleased with them at all. You can walk in front of the camera and it'll take your picture sometimes. Battery life on some are not very good as well.
One of the guys that had the Covert read the reviews in the HCO Spartans and the reviews were very good on them. He bought 2 of the Spartans and has used them here and in Kansas. Everytime you walk in front of them it'll take your picture! He is very happy with them. Can't always say that about the Coverts. After season I'll be selling my 2 Coverts and getting Spartans!

Has anyone tried Moultree's that you can add to their cameras?

I have one of the Moultrie Modems they came out with. For the most part they do really well. All hours of the day they take and send pictures. Only issue I've had lately is I may not get the picture til several hours later. With the Moultrie you can change all of your camera settings and such from your iPhone. Mine is set up where I get a text saying I have a new image. Then you have to open the ap to view it. Not like a regular cell camera where the picture is sent by text. Another downside of it is the modem connects to the camera by about an 18" USB cable. So you have 2 devices strapped to the tree. I usually put one on one side and the other on the other side if the cable allows it too. All in all it's not a bad set up and it sends way more pictures then my Covert's do. No comparison actually! I'd go with the Moultrie Modem before I will a Covert again. But my 1st pick is the Spartan!

I just bought a Bushnell Aggressor Wireless. So far, I'm happy with the service I'm getting compared to a 2 year old covert one. Verizon has the best service in my area, but I'm impressed with the AT&T Bushnell Aggressor Wireless. I haven't used it in the field yet, but the app works well with it. Very user friendly and takes good photos. Go to trailcampro.com to look at reviews for all the cameras.

I want to get a wireless but i cant get over the fear of someone stealing off one of the many public spots i monitor being they are roughly $300 a cam.

Folks seems to have had great luck with the snyper commander camera. I do not own a wireless camera yet but have been researching. Those cams are pretty affordable ($250)

I joined a group on Facebook (cellcam freaks) and have been looking at their pics and reviews

How do you like it so far? I have the moultrie modem and the cheapest cam i could find to go with it. Used all of last season and no complaints so far other than being 2 parts...

I used a Bushnell last year and loved it. I bought two more, and have a lot of fun with them. Here is a sample of a high res pic that I ordered.

couple of questions for a novice trail user/owner ......... first, is this a legitimate web site that reviews trail cams in anyones esteemed opinion?

http://bestreviews.com/best-trail-cameras

Second, and wishing BSK were around to weigh in, he is the guy responsible for putting a lot of dollars into trail cams.......is the new wireless STEALTH CAM product on anyone's rader?

Anyone with experience with the stealth cam product?

Thank you all in advance, just figuring I might be able to save time, money and hassle by learning from somebodys personal experience with them!

Opinions vary.
I place more value in this one,
https://www.trailcampro.com/
and like you wish BSK would come on here and add insult to all of them :tu:

Personally, I am not a big fan of the Stealth line, although they're a reasonable option in their price range, and many people love them.

Not sure if you're asking about cams in general or cellular cams?

If non-cellular, for the approximate price range of Stealth, I prefer the Browning cams.
With cellular, I'm still waiting for more bugs to get worked out before I whole-heartedly jump in.

My initial experiments with cellular have been disappointing, with part of the disappointment being how drastically battery life can be reduced, somewhat negating the purposed advantages of cellular. They are getting those bugs worked out, but as with most other things, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, until you jump over there.

Lbl man,
I don't see how they can solve the battery life on a wireless camera… I consider my iPhone To be a marvel of modern technology but I still have to charge the battery every day.

There are certainly a lot of more choices for wireless this year than in the past… I would expect this market to explode over the next two years.

I use a 12 volt battery and a voltage reducer to make it 6 volts... put the battery in 5 gallon bucket and brush it in. Run the wire through pvc or conduit (so the animals don't chew power wire up) and it lasts all year... No problems
