It depends on what kind of wheat seed you use. If you use seed wheat plant about 100 lbs per acre, If you get the seed from a farmer (combine wheat) plant about 175 lbs per acre. Just straight ammonia-nitrate will work on wheat.

If you plant other seed with the wheat you will need to lower the above seed rate. and change the fertilize.
 
Fertilization and liming should be done to soil test recommendations, but any type of grain is going to need far more nitrogen than other components.

If drilled, wheat is supposed to be planted at about 100 pounds per acre. If you are broadcasting and covering with a drag, go up to 150 pounds per acre.
 
thanks. gonna break ground this weekend. Going cheap this season on plots as far as seed goes. Last three years has been a bust for weather.

Not much luck giving them what they want. Mother nature hasnt helped us the last few years. Kinda like throwing 100 dollar bills out the window. Trying to minimize that this season. I cant get my dad to put 8000 lbs of lime on a food plot.lol
