Well here it is fellas, I have shot Remington Core-Lokt 130 grain psp since 2002. From 2002-1993 I shot Remington Core-Lokt 100 grain psp .243. I have killed a slew of deer with both calibers from the one type of bullet, Remington Core-Lokt. I have the utmost confidence that when it comes time to kill, I will kill with this bullet. I have killed deer standing, walking, trotting, running, any quartering shot to be thought of, and broadside. I honestly was thinking about swapping to the Winchester Deer Season XP for this season, but I known if it ain't broke dont fix it. Has anyone killed deer with these and if so can we post some kill pics with maybe an entrance and exit wound. it would still be hard for me to swap but it is in my brain.
\

Thanks,

Corelokts will kill them for sure, but they dont pattern well for me so I swapped. My best friend is a long rang shooter/perfectionist, so I get him to make me handloads.

The deer season xp's are designed for explosive expansion. I could be wrong, but I don't think your going to get many exit's. I like exit holes. If you want a great factory load try the Winchester power max bonded. I've shot a few with them and they retain a lot of their weight and perform great. Consistent sub MOA accuracy and same price as the deer season xp.

Winchester power max bonded are bad a rounds . Also I bought a box of deer season xp and they are supposed to exit according to the you tube vids . I tried them through my 308 and they didn't pattern near as good as cor lokt .

I shot them last year out of my .243 and my nephew's .243, they group exceptionally well for factory loads in both guns (Savage's). I also handload quite a bit, but these XP's grouped slightly under an inch in my gun and right at an inch in my nephew's.

We both took a deer with them...one made it about 10 yards, the other about 30 yards.

So far, nothing but good results for us with these bullets.

I switched from CoreLokts. Wasn't happy with the lack of blood trails that I saw on a couple deer. Winchester ballistic supreme and Federal for me for all of my hunting rifles from this point on.

I shoot 150 Gr XPs in my Browning .308 x bolt. I tested them rather extensively against core lokts and federals at 100 yards. The XPs consistently performed the best for me on the range. I have taken three deer with them. No problem with entry/exit. One dropped where he stood. The other two dropped within 30 yards of where they were shot. I have no complaints whatsoever. Every gun is different, of course, but my Xbolt likes the XPs. Hope that helps.

wsm -- good to hear. I've never tried the fusions, but I've read good things. I enjoy testing ammo, so I'll give them a try along with the new Browning ammo line (from Winchester).

I shot one doe last year with the Winchester Deer Season XP in 130 gr .270. About 75 yards broadside shot. She never took another step and dropped like she got hit with a sledge hammer. I'm impressed with performance on that one but need more evidence this coming season before I switch for good.
