I just had work called off for the remainder of the day in thinking that this evening is gonna be a good one since the rain is tailing off. The farm that I'm hunting this evening has a hundred and fifty acres of soy beans still standing. My question is, do I hunt the hard woods or the food source.

I'd hunt anywhere that looks good, deer been running around rutted up around mid TN. I don't know if your deer eat beans now, but I've noticed they don't care for dry soybeans much now and are still eating acorns and such. Your place could be different though.

Deer will prefer soybeans over corn usually
when real cold and late in season

I haven't seen much rutting activity in my neck of the woods. Where have you been seeing this Catman? Woods or open fields? You may be having better luck in Franklin though than where I am.

There's defiantly been a tapering of activity in the soybeans. But I have spotted a few fresh scrapes on the edges in the last week. Think I'm gonna set up in a transition area from hardwoods to the beans...
