best of luck.. if wheat geta too tall before frost there is a chance the frost can kill it...This is why farmers don't usually plant wheat until Oct....

I always plant my wheat the first or second week of Sept. and have never had this problem. The time I did wait till Oct. it only got about 6" tall and the frost hit and stunted its growth , started to go dormant and the deer mowed it to the dirt. Ever sense then I plant in Sept., get a lot better thicker stand.

Beautiful..I still say once you try Buck forage Oats for small plots you will never plant wheat again.

Same here!, I have even planted one as late as the first of nov. did not do great..........but produced and was adequate.
