Just planted my plot screen a week ago.

Egyptian wheat is a completely different plant than winter wheat. And when I buy wheat for my fall food plots, I just get VNS Wheat. The VNS stands for "Variety Not Specified." Basically, generic wheat.

I planted some Egyptian Wheat where we duck hunt bordering the corn on June 3 and was in it yesterday and it is over 6' 3" tall. I was blown away by how thick and tall it was.

Dickson Co-op. They had to order it. I think it was $80 ish for a 50lb bag.

I have been highly impressed with it. I'll try to get some pics of it posted soon.

How many pounds does a 50 lb bag do? Also, is it invasive, as in wanting to take over the rest of the plot? Or is it just in the area you have planted?

10-15lbs per acre seeding rate. Takes 100 days to mature so needs to be planted early. It does not spread. Will only grow where you planted.

Very similar to sorghum Sudan or green graze except it has a bigger stem and they say it will have more seed in the head.

Thanks - Annual or perennial?

Annual

Starting to show a little rust on it too after all the rain this year so if you plant it in the same place year after year you may need to spray with some fungicide or just rotate the ground you plant it on.

Gator is 78" tall and the Egyptian wheat is a couple feet taller. Planted 6/3 and taller than the corn as well. I have been impressed.
