Pulled pics today and noticed these spots. Are they ticked up?

I'd guess ticks or maybe starting to shed that summer coat.

Looks like burs in the hair. Ticks focus on the face and around the ears.

interesting, but in all the years i have hunted and killed 130 or so, i have never pulled one cocklebur from a deer coat. Did not know they would hang in it. I learn something every day.
