man, ive never seen so many 2 ft+ skippies attack my smoky joe sr. today, but never hook em with their 2mm mouth and their chrome armour. i thought i had a baby rockfish drive bye, when i saw a 30 ish incher try to eat it. talk about matchin the hatch/bait, my big foot lure needs to be big 2 feet :D

I have used for cut bait several times what would be the state record skipjack. I just can't bring myself to take one of the nasty things to be weighed and documented.

on a side note, they have all but disappeared below melton hill dam.

If your in TN and you catch the state record skippy aka "slime rocket", you have also just caught the world record.

I have done it more than once. I have caught several over 5 lbs over the years.

I caught several at cumberland city this year that were pretty hefty. I have no clue what they would measure all I know is they make great catfish bait, and they were an absolute blast catching. And the state/world record skipjack is 4lbs caught out of watts bar
