for one acre. i was thinking ,winter wheat ,rye "grain", clover ,and maybe throw in a few turnips. ? how many pounds of each would it take ? i found all can of info on line last year about mixing your own. but cant find it this year. oh yeah my dad is a green bean farmer and he has a few old 50lb bags he said i could have too.

i was wondering how many pounds of each i would need for one acre? and if wheat ,rye [grain] ,clover was a good mix ? or may should i just pay a bag already mixed ? the qdma books sounds like a good idea . thanks

Just a basic plot that I do is 50lb mix that Hoopers Supply in M'boro sells. They mix it themselves and it is 33% Winter Wheat, 33% Oats, and 33% Austrian Winter Peas.

I sowed this on several different places last year, and almost everyone of them had little or NO fertilizer at all, and they turned out great.

Keep in mind that this is bare bones simple mix, from there the skys the limit, according to what you are trying to accomplish.
