What to do with coons once catch?

If you have eaten a coon cooked right there is almost nothing better in my opinion. Now the ones I have eaten have came from way back in the woods and aren't a Memphis trash panda but they tasted great!

Coons are a nuisance animal. I dispatch them and discard them.

Skin them like a squirrel, get the guts and all cleaned out, and quarter them up. Just pretend you are cleaning a squirrel with more meat.

Kill or pick up coo n off road. Wire coo n to tree. (I clean out a big dirt spot in front of coo n dig up fresh dirt easier to fool him when you set trap) check every day or two till cat starts visiting and covers coo n with debris most likely leaves. Then set trap a foot of so out from coon.

As far as wanton waste, that's a legislative thing, not reality. We are pretty arrogant if we think anything not consumed by a human is wanton waste. I do understand the use of wanton waste laws helping PROSECUTE folks killing for just the "Trophy" aspect, taking the head and leaving the rest.

Never got one to visit here. but I set trap back a foot or so and I don't use any guides once they start feeding they get pretty careless.
