What if the turkey had a nose like a deer? Along with their eyesight could you get close enough to ever kill one..... and sometimes I think they do, lol.

Same here.

You would have to ambush them. The only tactic that would change for me would be the calling. I still scout for strut zones, roost, feeding, etc.

I've often said if they could smell you may never kill one at least with a shotgun.

As for if they didn't gobble it wouldn't be the same. The fun part of the hunt is hearing them gobble.

It would be like fall hunting I guess. Locate some birds by vision or listening for scratching in the leaves, stalk them and ambush.

If they didn't gobble I wouldn't miss out on so much crappie fishing because I wouldn't hunt them.

The birds on my place are getting to that point. I heard less gobbling last year than I've heard in 40 years of turkey hunting.
