Anyone shooting these? I have a 45 caliber knight disc extreme I would like to try them out in this year. I have 2 packs of powerbelt bullets but heard things about powerbelt. So I will sell them and try these 200gr bullets.

THAT IS THE WORST MUZZLELOADING BULLET EVER!I had a couple horrible experiences with them and so did 3-4 other guys I know! Stay away from them, go with something in the Barnes lineup!

W.Seay could u explain please. have shot them for quite a while and i couldnt ask for a better bullet with penatration and exit hole.

The shockwaves are accurate. They just don't expand. Exit hole is the same size as the entrance wound. I switched to the hornady SST's for this year afte 2 years of questionable performance from the shockwaves.

I guess that clears that up...huh Big J?

"square"....did you know that the Shockwave and the Hornady SSt are the same bullet?

SST/Shockwaves are awesome bullets

I did not know they were the same. Outer appearance isn't the same and not just color. I know a couple of hunters that had good experiences with them. My T/C likes them, but if they don't perform, I will try something else.

The represenative from Hornady said they where made different

yeah...I have heard of different "Hornady reps" saying different things. I think the answer depends on if they are in sales, or in engineering :)

might have something to do with the fact that the "Shockwave" packaging comes at a $$ premium....also, I know they are at least 2 different versions now, as they have a new "bonded" bullet too....maybe that is the difference being referred to.

bottom line...I shoot the SST's and they rock a deer's world, nice exit holes...kills fast

YOu have to make your own decision to what works for you. Users are going to have good and bad experiences with every product ever made. You have to experiment to see what works best out of you rifle. What works best on game, well if the game goes down where it stands man a great product, but from experience, if I did not have a good shot placement, well was it the product not doing it job or was it me. I'd say I did not do my job.

Again, experiment and do your job.

The 250gr shockwaves with the yellow tip and black sabot did well for me the other day. 30 yard shot, busted two ribs and left a nickle sized entrance and exit wound. That was my first deer with an inline, all my previous experience has been with caplocks shooting either patched round balls or large conical bullets.

Well the TC shockwave dropped that big 8 pointer in his tracks!! I have to say I like what I saw. It destroyed him. I think they work well in my Knight rifle!!

From my experience with the 250gr shockwave with yellow tip it leaves No blood trail and makes a bullet hole going in and a bullet hole going out, no expansion!I also have 3-4 friends who say the exact same thing I do.I am sure some people just love them but I will never consider using them again. However they were very accurate. In my opinion, there are many other rounds that are MUCH better (any of the barnes.

WSeay,
Why would they design a bullet that does not expand?

If a hunter makes a shot capable of giving expansion, it will do it's job.

No doubt about that.
You think TC just threw it out for sale, and are stupid?

If TC knows how to design and build these great guns, I think they can do the same with a simple bullet.

But no bullet maker can compensate for bad shot placement.

I'll post a pic of what it will do soon.
Huge holes.

I killed a large Doe last year with my Friends Remington 700 ML
shooting a 250gr shockwave.
The exit hole was huge. One of the largest holes I have ever had.
Only strange thing was that there was no a lot of blood for such a large hole.
Must have been the shot placement. Not the sabot.

Why would my Omega shoot the same bullet any differently?
A shot is a shot.

LCU,
I can only state what I have seen and what others told me. I never said TC was stupid. Just because they make great muzzleloaders, which I have owned doesn't mean they only put their name on good bullets.Guns and bullets are two totally different ball games. Both deer I shot were hit right in the vitals as were other examples I mentioned. If you like them, more power to you and keep using them. Also, no matter who's name is on a bullet the bullet can still fail.I do know for a fact that the barnes bullets are MUCH more devaststing than the shockwaves. I know 2 TC employees who hunt exclusively with a muzzleloader only, I found it entertaining that they both would not even consider hunting with the shockwaves yet they buy the barnes in bulk for their personal muzzleloaders.

I have put many holes in many deer with the 250 shockwave and honestly most of them fell in their tracks...

The 250's didn't shoot good in my gun. I went to the Knight Barnes 290 grain and shooting much better. Past experience with the Barnes bullet says they are devastating.

I am going to buck hunt on Saturday.
This afternoon I plan on laying the smackdown on a doe.
See 15 every evening.
Will see how the 250 SW, hits shooting 150gr of 777.
