Yeah something has him on edge. Either he's not familiar with the area or something has recently changed and he notices it.
Well for one hes just come out of a massive super thick thicket. Also I got him and 3 other bucks on camera every other night for 4 out of 7 days and they all 4 came in during daylight 2 out of those 7 days so im leaning towards they mightve noticed camera but it didn't bother them. I had camera there since this time last year but it was off from January until end of July so its not new but the low glow ir flash is.

Sometimes that's just what they do. Here's one before the hunting even started on our place last year. I have another video of him 2 weeks prior to this one where he's moving twice as slow in the same spot, but you can barely make him out

It may not be the camera at all. It might have been a coyote peed & he's getting whiff of it, or it could be 100 other things. Once a buck gets to that age they get Jedi senses lol.

Yea I heard a good term for them the other day. From 4 to 7 yrs old they are like Navy Seals out there lol

I have watched some of the old ones do things to avoid hunters that had I not seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it. They are so in tune to the woods that they live in it's insane. And I like the SEALS reference!

I have several bucks that have been coming to my feeders all summer. Only one doe showing up, now, it's like they all have vanished. Haven't checked my cameras to see if they are coming after dark but they were coming regularly in the daytime. Good thing is the turkeys are still putting on a show and the 3 hens and 11 poults have made it so far. They got big quick. Seeing more turkeys around this area than I have in several years too.

This is the time of year buck bachelor groups break up and they all go their separate ways to their fall ranges, which can be VERY different than their summer ranges.

Yessir, that is what happened last year too. Had night time pictures of bucks and the does were staying in the area. It seems like they have switched areas again. Sure enjoyed watching them though. Had 3 bucks that were pretty decent. Noticed some acorns on the ground after the winds also.

And it seems like the public land kind are 2x harder to kill due to the constant pressure during season.
