I've always heard this is what put a big hurt on the quail population..

Domestic cats are exceptional predators! Cats that roam freely have a significant impact on just about all wildlife species smaller than them. They will kill anything they can overpower. Believe it or not, there are a lot of feral cats roaming the woods. I lost count of how many I killed at Chuck Swan during a research project up there in the 80's.

Y'all just gave me a great idea! I can find a market for a feral cat's affect on wildlife article out there somewhere. Gracias.

Check out Wisconsin's feral cat problem. Some debate on whether to open a hunting season on them.

Australia has a major problem as well

Interesting! I can't believe there are about 7 times more feral cats than domestic cats in Australia. I wonder what the number is in the US.

I hate cats. People who let them roam free are irresponsible pet owners. I despise them and I am sure there are many people in my area that have wondered what happened to fluffy.
