went metal detecting today

went out for the first time today with my boss and his neighbor. didnt find anything worth bragging about but had lots of fun. found a 69 penny, a 2000 quarter, old radiator cap, old u-joint and quite a few rifle hulls. even found 2 mushroomed bullets in the ground. my coolest find was an old 30-30 hull that i shot when i was about 12. i can remember walking back to the truck one morning and had a yote come out of the woods about 30yds and never seen me. popped it and ejected the shell and didnt pick it up. thats been about 10yrs ago and found it today. was cool to reflect back on that day.

I need to blow the dust off mine and do some digging. I'll warn ya it can be addicting.A few places you might try to get the hang of it and have some fun. Look under and around any bleachers at ball fields you can make enough to pay for batteries.You can also try play grounds ,merry go rounds, slides and swings were always good .
You may already know this ? It is a good practice when metal detecting and digging to cut a piece of sod. Then digg your hole. When your done fill the hole and put your piece of sod back.Leave it like you found it. Good Luck and Happy digging !!!!
