After being all couped up all winter I'm ready to get back on the water, and so is my wife and daughter. They have new fishing gear their itching to use.

I can't decide whether to fish the GSP or search for crappie and stripers/whites and yellows below priest on Saturday. I will be in a canoe with them and want it to be a positive and fun first fishing trip of the year. I don't know which place would be best to fish Saturday. I don't have a depth finder but I assume the water temps are mid to low 40s right now. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

White bass are hitting in the Stones at Cumberland river. Fish the current seams with 1 1/2-2 inch white or pearl twister tails. Fish from the Stones down to the bluff wall.

If you can catch a break from the generation the Stone would be a good bet. You can do the two car system park one at the dam and one at Kohl's on Lebanon Road. Bad new is that they have been generation non stop today so it might be the same tomorrow. I wouldn't suggest putting a novice and/or a child in a canoe on the stones or cumberland if there is any generation. With the cold water and current too much can go wrong. Good news is if they don't generate on the Stones and you make that float either the trout, stripe or panfish will bite, maybe all three.

My plan currently is to just fish the steam plant in the morning and if I don't have any luck there I'll look to surrounding areas to see what might bite.

I'd love to hit the stones river but with generation and not ideal water temps make me want to wait. With warm weather all next week, I will be hitting the stones hard next weekend.
