I just noticed the new version of the Weatherby Vanguard made for women called the "Camilla". The more I look at it, the more I want one for myself. Especially since I see they are offering it in 7mm-08.

In this modern world of plastic rifles with ugly black stocks and even "paint jobs" that look less like guns and more like gaudy hotrods, all of a sudden a wood stocked Weatherby looks classic! :shock: :shock:

Also the shorter length of pull makes perfect sense for a man when bundled up in a parka. Not sure what it weighs but it's bound to be well under 7 lbs with that light weight 20 inch barrel. I've always preferred a gun that's lighter for carrying.

I think it is only offered in 338 Weatherby Magnum.

They want tough women.

That is a beautiful rifle and deserves to be in a deer camp for many years.

Yeah, that probably will hurt sales to men. But at least it doesn't have pink accents or some other silly stuff like that to give away the fact that they had woman shooters in mind. I want one for the same reasons that I wanted the little CZ carbine in 7.62x39. I'm lazy and don't like carrying around a log with a tractor axle for a barrel.

For deer that is - when it comes to varmints, I don't mind having to haul my rifle around on a 5th wheel trailer!

Sure is a great looking rifle. I have really tried the past couple of years to revert back to a wooden stock but every time I take one in the woods I ding it up. Most of mine sit in Bell and Carlsons or HS Precisions at this point. I just don't have to be as careful pulling them up to my treestand.

Note the drop at comb/heel. It is similar to the savages in that it is designed for women who typically have longer necks and more sloping shoulders than men, so it may not be comfortable for men. Check that out before you buy.
