I didn't really think they would do it. I hate to see him go, but the Titans really needs someone more offensive minded.

.545 Record and only two Playoff Victories in 6 years. Not exactly "elite" coaching. Jeff Fisher? .512 . Next coach in not going to do any better. They have had maybe 2 or 3 really standout players the entire franchise history. Just a rebadged Houston Oilers team. Should go back to where they came from.

2 of the 8 running backs to rush for 2000 yards in a season were Titans. Therefore, one would have to rate Chris Johnson and Derrick Henry as standout players. Throw in Eddie George, Steve McNair, Derrick Mason, Keith Bullock, and we rapidly pass the 2 or 3 you mentioned. Plus, there are more. Many more.

Bruce Matthews
Jevon Kearse
Haynesworth
Steve Hutchinson
Mike Munchak
Frank Wycheck
Michael Roos
Blaine Bishop
Kevin Mawae
Derrick Mason

Just some of the all pro or pro bowl players. It's ok though he doesn't keep up with the NFL enough to know what he is talking about.

NFL playing field is much more equal and competitive than college, you can lose 6-7 games and still win Super Bowl

The talent is also at a much higher level.

College players think they're great because they're all-conference or all-American; they don't realize until they get there that all of their teammates are, also.

He was a decent coach.

I probably should have used the word "ELITE" instead of "standout" while many of those names you mentioned are standout in terms of titans history and noteable in terms of NFL history. They are not exactly ELITE . And I doubt we will see many of those names make the HOF. Frank Wycheck will Likley get in for both his service on the field and off the field and he earned it. Derrick Henry no doubt will get there some day no matter where his feet will land.

The quality of the college game is awfuk compared to the nfl. Keep in mind that only about way less than 1 percent of college players even make an offseason nfl roster and only about half those will ever make a 53 man nfl roster. Shows the huge skill level difference between college and pro football players.

And remember college athletes are now paid and can kneel and march with the best of them…

Not talking about the rank and file college players, I'm talking specifically about the ones who make it to the NFL. Many of them fail to realize that while they were the best in college, they're no longer the best - they're just one of many, all of whom have the same talent as them.

Is league MVP elite? What all all Pro? How about Offensive player of the year? Just curious what elite means to you:

No doubt. And what many dont understand is that your best player on alabama, georgia, osu etc, may be 15 picks below a player from north dakota state whononly played 3 yrs and never appeared in a bowl game. Why? Hes 4 inches taller, 30 pounds heavier and runs the same 40 as you. Example- Josh Allen. Went to wyoming. Relatively unknown. Came to combine and crushed the velocity record and ran a 4.6 at 6 ft 5 and 240. Became the only person ever to have 40 plus tds in 4 straight yrs and holds the qb rushing td single season mark. When you have elite physical talent, the nfl dont care about your teams record in college.

Joe flacco is another example- went to delaware. Superbowl mvp and he could be again this yr at 38.

Heard on the radio the other day, the most watched college ball game was dwarfed by a ordinary NFL game didn't know that
Yeah NFL ratings are alot higher the College kinda surprising since everyone claims they hate the NFL.

NFL does a good Job spreading stuff out 365 days a year also. Almost something every month to watch. They were airing preseason games 6 months ago, and they haven't even started the playoffs yet, Then you got combine, Draft, HOF inductees, Netflix specials and everything in between.

i think the resurgence of the nfl aligns with the frustration of the lack of parody and football quality of college. If you just watch college, you wont notice. if you watch both- its glaring. Only the best of the best of the best, ever get to play on sunday
