Venison roast and sauerkraut

Thawing out a roast to cook tomorrow in the slow cooker all day with sauerkraut. Not sure if this has been attempted before but I love slow cooking beef ribs in sauerkraut so I thought I would give it a try. We will see how it does.

Well I will put it on tomorrow morning. I have decided that instead of the sauerkraut juice, I am going to pour beer in over the sauerkraut and roast. We will see how it turns out.

It actually turned our really good. I am a huge fan of sauerkraut so I figured I would like it. The meat fell off the bone and was really moist. The flavor was good and it was incredibly simple. Sear the roast, throw it in the crock pot with 2 cans of sauerkraut and a can of miller lite. A few cloves and some all spice and slow cook it for 10 hours.

Sounds interesting. Did it make you think of corned beer any?

Maybe a little bit but really had a pretty unique flavor. I do sauerkraut with beef ribs a couple of times a year and this really wasn't much different than that. Tasted a lot like the beef ribs and no gamey taste at all.
