Stainless synthetic stock. Looking at the 116 Savage, or A Bolt without Boss. .270 caliber. Money is about the same $550 ish either way.

Opinions? I own a couple Savage and really like them, but never owned a Browning.

I may talk myself out of both before I decide and just save the money.

Never shot a Savage but absolutely love brownings.

You can find brand new Browning A Bolts for the $500 range.
Looked at a Composite Stalker in 7mm mag the other day for $525 plus tax.

Just thought I would let ya know that.

Browning. Browning. Browning.

Accuracy is almost a given these days with all major brands capable of MOA. I find the Browning much nicer to hold and look at, unless you go to the very top of the line wood-stocked Savages. (My A Bolt is wood and I'd go there rather than Synthetic.)

when shopping for the boy's 7mm08, we looked at the browning and the savage. the savage was better built, the bolt was smoother, wood-to-metal fit was better and it was $200 less. he has been shooting that savage for 12+ years and wouldn't take 3 brownings for it.
