I have a 15 year old daughter who's never wanted to deer hunt until now. She doesnt have her Hunter Safety. Can she still go hunting "on juvy hunt" and if so what kind of permit would she need? Thanks

For a resident, she will need a type 002 Junior Hunt/Fish/Trap license.

To cover the Hunter Ed she will need a type 012 Apprentice License to act as the hunter ed exemption. That exemption requires an adult 21 or older whe meets the hunter safety requirements to accompany them during any hunting where they can take immediate control of the hunting weapon.

Yes, unless she is hunting on your property where she is exempt from license and hunter safety requirements under the landowner exemption statute.

After the age of 10 she is required to be hunter safety certified for any hunting in TN (unless hunting under the landowner exemption). The type 012 exempts her from the hunter safety requirement for one year from date of purchase.
