Holy smokes I wish some of my deer would just stand there, lol. He didn't know what hit him. I've seen a bunch of elk videos but not that one.

A well-placed archery shot is sometimes the most humane way for an animal to go. Other than flinching from hearing the string, that elk didn't know what hit him and he was gone in a few seconds. I'm sure evry noticed him bleeding out quickly. Absolutely no adrelanine or lactic acid in that meat.

Awesome , and the results are the proof in the pudding ,, But how many times have you heard never take that head on shot ? Kinda makes me rethink , shoot or not shoot ! And that's a pretty nice bull !

I have always liked frontal shots, you have a BUNCH of vitals all in the same place. I stuck a doe in the base of the neck staring straight at me the last weekend of archery that dropped like a rock, obviously.

Well . I had a doe bust me while at full draw in a 20 ft stand . Looking straight at me about 25 yds . I knew it was hit or miss ,, between the eyes is also deadly , But any other situation I would wait for broadside shot .

the shot looked bad til it hit a bone & it turned the arrow straight into the heart area. glad it had enuf left to bury up .

Elk just don't seem to have the situational awareness that whitetail do. I've seen too many videos of them just walking right up to, or right by, the hunter.

Although worked out great for him, believe me, still not a high percentage shot. I had a bull last yr that stood at 40 yds the same angle, for what seemed forever, me at full draw and I wouldn't shoot. Finally he turned broadside and gave me the shot I wanted. Tough Big animals

I don't believe it reached the heart. looks like jugular vein hit to me.

That was amazing footage of how deadly a sharp broad head can be. The blood flow was instaneous like popping a balloon. It looks like a caratoid artery hit..It could have turned into a long tracking job. That's a low percentage shot with no pass through. Good for the kid it didn't.

A good friend of mine lost a nice 6x6 two years ago to a shot like that. That's not a shot I would take, but I'm glad it worked out for him.
