Planted my plots two weeks ago. Only had rain one time until yesterday. One plot is doing good and the other is absolutely getting hammered by turkeys. It looks like hogs have been rooting around. Tried replanting Friday evening and put a coyote decoy to keep them out. That didn't work and they've wore it out again.

I've had that issue almost every year. Last year during the drought, i seeded 3 times. every time i would go check my plots, i would run off 5-8 gobblers and 15-25 hens and poults. I finally got a day of rain and went and seeded as it started that evening. Only way i got anything to grow.

Well it looks like they didn't destroy it the second time. It's starting to come on now even if it's a little behind. Other one starting to look good since it got some rain on it.

this year I made a very cheap but I believe to be effective scare crow. Additionally, I bought numerous aluminum pie pans and attached them to barbed wire fence and low hanging limbs with fishing line. Never seen a limb hanger on trail cameras.
