For those mornings when the birds are just not responding, but they're around, what's the best blind to just go and take a seat for a while? Would be handy when it just might rain too.

That's what I've always done, or sit on the back porch listening for an eventual gobble and taking off. Just getting older and enjoying comfort more.

That's why i normally take one of those turkey lounger chairs. Most of the turkeys I call up and kill are related to that thing. Without it I can't sit very comfortably and I want to get up and roam around bumping birds like googans. Before turkey hunting became cool you could run and gun and bump an occasional bird because there was enough land and birds. Now you can't because the googans infiltrating.
So if I don't kill one at fly down, I just find a nice area and sit and listen. If one starts gobbling on his own in the hardwoods at 10 am, he probably wants to get shot. So I move as needed and get on him. Thats how I hunt.
