First of all, I got my limit about 6 minutes before man did. :)
I caught 4 bass, he caught 3.

The first 30 minutes we caught one trout each, then they finally started biting a little quicker.
Took 2 hours almost to the minute to fill both our limits.

I absolutely LOVE how quick you can clean a trout too.
Faster than when you fillet a bream. :)

Man's are on the left, mine on the right.
I think he got me on overall size today.

Fixed one with just butter, 3 with lemon pepper and 3 with Tony Chacery's (sp?)

I absolutely LOVED how they tasted. Couldn't tell much difference in the seasoned and the plain due to it being on the "inside" of the fish.
I hated the bones.
Another reason I don't eat fish much at all unless it is a fillet.
Just have a fear of getting a bone in my throat.

Overall they were great though and I will keep catching, keeping and cooking them.
 
leave the tail and head on. when the fish is cooked, flake the meat off one side with a fork. grab the tail and get it started separating from the other side and just peel every bone out of it.

I've seen it done that way, too. We cut the heads off of ours, though. Otherwise, you can just peel the entire skeleton off.

I still like the fillets, though.
 
Very nice. Im over in Chatt and can make the drive to the mountains to get some trout but im moving to Martin in July. Glad to hear that I can still catch some bows over there.

They stock them in December and in January.
When the water gets to and above about 70 degrees they all die off from what I have been told.

Normally around here that is in March. :D

Well then I shall make it my personal mission to catch all of them that I can to save the poor things from that. Better in my stomach than floating around belly up :grin:
 
Nice! I just gut them, and rake the scales off while eating and use my fork to follow the ribs, so I dont eat any bones...I leave the fins and head too, someone once told me, that when the eyes pop, it's done.
 
I rolled these in flour, fried them in an oiled cast iron skillet on a Coleman stove on a picnic table in a campground on the banks of the Caney Fork River in October. (Diagram THAT sentence!)

Kinda funny, I ran to McDonalds Sunday morning to grab some stuff for breakfast and decided to run by walmart first to get it so I could be ready to go right after church.

One of the deacons was in there getting some doughnuts for the prior service breakfast and he asked if I was going fishing.
I had picked up a few lures and a line storage box too.

Before I thought I said yep and smiled real big.
He gave me that look and then I thought...

Yeah, AFTER church I mean. :D
