Decided to get on the water early today.
I was on the water at 4:30
Forgot my head light but made due with a flashlight and the interior lights in my boat.
The crappie were not where they have been and I only had a small bream bite and didn't catch anything till almost 6:00.

Long story short I finally found the crappie but they wouldn't eat.
Finally figured out I had to let the minnow settle on the bottom and reel it in painfully slow to get a bite.

Managed 5 bream
1 shellcracker
1 golden shiner
25 crappie

Felt good to at least figure out a presentation they would take though.

Also learned it's impossible to keep a boat clean if you put it in the water. 😂

For sure!

I love to get out on the water just as dawn is breaking, or a little before.
Very enjoying & satisfying to see all of nature awaken.
And usually a lot less competition at the boat ramps and on the water.
There is one spot I bream fish and it doesn't matter the time of the year, even when they are on beds, they just do not bite very good until about 7:30 or so.
I still get there right at sunrise. LOL

Kinda like when I played golf, I loved to make "first tracks" on #1. :)
