What does the law say about prosecuting trespassers if you are leasing land? Found a stand on lease before season and thought it was an old stand that had just been left there. Last week walked by the stand and saw a new tree step had been put in tree to hang stuff. I believe it is the guy who borders the land we have leased. I put up a couple signs where he had been coming into the woods a couple weeks before season, but it don't look like it slowed him down any. Talked to local GW and he said to put a camera up to try catch him. If I do get pictures of him is there anything I can do to prosecute or does it have to be the land owner? I talked to him and he said to do what I needed to do. Thanks

It is my understanding that unless the landowner has given you written power of attorney, you will not be able to prosecute. The landowner will have to take out the warrant, and you can be a prosecuting witness.
