Just remember tree tubes arent recommended for apple tree. I dont know if you meant apples by fruit or not, just thought Id throw that out that there. For apples you want more horizontally trained limbs and the tubes get the limbs started more vertically.

I use those tubes on all of my oaks, persimmons, etc though. They really worked well for the sawtooths that I planted in them last year.

Tree tubes make a huge difference. Not only do they stop browsing and rubbing on the young saplings, they act as mini-greenhouses, increasing growth.

I was thinking for some of my pear trees and for sawtooth oaks. What size height tube did you go with for your sawtooths? I have only read good things about the tubes but always interested in hearing user feedback. Thanks.

I know several guys that use tubes for pears. They use shorter tubes though and still put wire cages around them. The problem comes when the plant reaches out of the top of the tube, deer love to browse on fruit trees.

Yup....Got them around all of our persimmon trees that we planted last year. Not that particular one in your pic, but some similar. In one field, we planted 10 and 9 of them were doing amazing with only one struggling. I guess he was the runt :)
