been looking at getting a new optima but looked at a Traditions Ultralight and Pursuit (i think was the model) and it held pretty well and seemed like a good gun.

i dont know anyone that shoots one so i have no experience with them. Just looking for opinions on them.

I have a traditions buckhunter in line. I bought it in 1999. Has been replaced by newer models and designs. It will take up to 100grains of powder and #11 cap. It was made in Spain. It has never given any problems. I am left handed and do not really like a bolt action type rifle. So I started using my brothers Knight. I have moved now to a CVA Wolf.I also have two traditions 6 shot revolvers. Both are good replicas made in Italy. I have no problems with Traditions.

By the way, my new CVA Wolf say`s made in Spain on the box.

i only ask because i saw one at Dicks on clearence for 255. It was the Persuit Ultralight version with the cerekote barrel. Came with a scope as well. Seemed like a pretty good deal. Cheapest i found the Optima with stainless and scope was around 365 shipped. The scope seemed to be a tad better on the optima though as it came with a Knonus Pro rather then the traditions scope. Niether or "good" scopes but the Knonus would be serviceable.

I would go with wolf If I was buying new! just as accurate as any muzzleloader ive owned and easy on the pocket! take the money you save and put toward a good scope your gun is only as good as your scope is!

Yep you can order the entire package for around $650 from traditions. Cheaper at some other places.
