I really need to get my seed down.

Is it too wet to seed? What about the forecast for MORE rain?

Hate to flush $300 of seed into the gully

I planted both Saturday and Sunday. It was raining on me both days. Great time to plant. Use your judgement on the rain forcast. Your area has been getting lots of rain.

I put out wheat between rains last week just broadcast on the ground, and I have wheat up everywhere. What type of seed do you have and are you going to scratch it in?

Go wash your cars and plan a picnic.
I got 1/3 of my seed out. Should stop raining until about June. ;)

Ground is pretty mushy in spots and hard in others. Dragged a piece of chain link fence to cover and it worked good in some spots, didn't do anything in others, and worked textbook perfect in the area I almost got the tractor stuck! :D

UPdate.

Public Service announcement.

Those little hand crank seed spreaders are NOT designed to do anything larger than a modest sized yard.

If you cant hit a wiffle ball across it, its TOO BIG!

Don't ask me how I know this. :o

A few years ago I used one to spread 100 lbs of oats, 200 lbs of wheat and several lbs of turnips and clover in about 3 1/2 acres of freshly plowed and disked ground.

I don't do that any more. My legs were sore for a full week.

Spent 4 hours and got about 1/2 the property done.
Still have 100# of wheat. 70# of oats, 80# of fescue, 80# of crimson clover and 20# of ladino to put down.

Going to pick up a big spreader tomorrow.

Uh....After re-reading the above post I should clarify.

By big spreader, I mean a seed spreader for the property.

NOt a Chaneylake reference. :D
