I hunt mostly in Fayette county. We have some serious cold and wind arriving as I type. I am wondering if I should get out to the farm tomorrow. I had big bucks on their feet between 6 and 8:30 AM yesterday. A north wind is nearly perfect for several of the stands and blinds that are set up and access to them. I got permission on this farm in mid-August, so the only food we were able to get in was winter wheat and Daikon radishes. They do not seem to be hitting them yet. I am figuring mid-December before that is viable food. I know there are a number of does bedding in several of the CRP fields. I have 3 does in the freezer and only need 1 or 2 more to make it through the year, so I am really only going for big bucks from now until mid-December.
Serious cold front.
High pressure.
Full moon.
Favorable wind.
Should I burn 1 of the 5 rut vacation days I have left for tomorrow? What would you do?
Thanks!
