here is a break down of jake kills since 2006 in each region.

Good graph above. I am in region I and do not shoot a lot of jakes. I do take kids often and let them shoot one as a first bird. I have shot jakes before and will probably shoot another in the future. This all depends on the situation of course. I would rather them drop the number of birds we can kill down. People automatically are more selective this way. This also makes it where as many jakes cannot be shot. I think it would be a win, win situation.

Wow, you can almost track the good hatch years with that data.

You can see why region 2 does so well each year, steady supply of yearlings. Region 1 you can see where it drops in half with I would suspect poorer hatch years.
