For the safer, I found this old tree stand belt in a storage tote. Kinda had to laugh.

I remember just tying a strap around my waist that came with my Summit Shooter tree stand. I hated that stand

For years I used a piece of ski rope.

My first and the one I used for a long time was a strap around the waist and the same around the tree joined by a piece that couldn't have been more than 15-20" long if that. It was 2-3" wide kind of like what a seatbelt in your truck is.
