I own some land in MS that I've not been able to hunt this year. Have allowed my nephew to watch it for me and hunt some. Has had pretty good luck taking 5 hogs and two deer. He was coming out of the woods today and saw a spike traveling along a fence row headed to the road. He sat down and watched it feed along. (Illegal to shoot spikes in MS). A few minutes later a truck came down the road, shot the deer in the neck with a small caliber rifle, and took off when my nephew stood up. The deer ran off, and my nephew could clearly see blood streaming down its neck. He called the game warden, who responded promptly. They couldn't find the deer, and my nephew could only see the top of the vehicle when they shot, so details were sketchy. A while later, on the way out of the area, they passed a vehicle fitting the description. The warden turned around, pulled them over, and my nephew kept driving. Hope he finds the perps.
