I got in the stand today at 1:00...at 1;30 this little eight point came to a grunt call......I assume that he did. I did a light grunt session, trying to sound like a tending buck. Not something that I do very often, but it just felt like the right thing to do, not sure why...In about 30 seconds, here he came straight at me looking around. He got to my stand , stopped looked around for the source of the sound and when he couldn't find it, he turned and walked away the way he came in....so he wasn't just walking that way, he came to the call..imo.
Within a half hour another buck came by, but never came close enough to get a good look at him but he was definitely bigger than this one...I tried grunting at him and he sped up ...lol.
I guess it's true that deer are individuals....you never know from deer to deer how they will react.
Didn't see anything else.....I'll be back in there before daylight tomorrow....ready to sit until lunch or maybe all day...Hopefully there will be no need...lol.
