After I killed of the grasses and weeds, there are some thin spots in my clover. I plan to go back next month and reseed it.

I am also considering mix in either winter wheat, or annual greens like turnips or something.

Is it a bad idea to mix anything other than clover at this point?

These are three small plots, one of which is largley bare at this point.

Yeah I wouldn't put turnips in your clover plot. Oats, rye, or wheat wouldn't be bad options.

If you're going to overseed now I might go with Oats but that's just me and again I think any of the grasses/grains above are good options.

Just throw it right in the clover. I never want to disc because that disturbance is just going to increase germination of weeds in the clover. Just before mowing would be a great time to sow seed, then you can mow some "mulch" on top of it. Also be best if you had some rain in the forecast to get it germinated quickly. Thats how you can turn a clover plot into a basically year food source.

thanks for the information. a couple of follow up questions....how long after using 24db should I wait before broadcasting wheat or oats....I just spot treated these plots last week?

Am I better of getting something from farm stores...or from whitetail institute? I have never used oats. I hunted a place 10 years ago that used winter wheat for cover and the deer were nuts over it.
