I have been out scouting twice on a piece of public land near me trying to find a good starting point for this coming deer season since I am new to the area. Looking for old rubs, browse, and well traveled trails. I found one spot that both times I walked up on 3 or 4 deer that took off and I didn't get a look at anything but the old white flags. But I did learn from what I heard. The noise from there hooves both times sounded like a herd of Horses rather than deer and that got me excited. They are definitely good size deer and since I didn't see any small deer I am going to go with they were a bachelor group of bucks. This will help the deal with all the bug bites and keep me scouting during the tough times( 90's). Man I love deer hunting!
 
Good assumption that they were likely bucks. We saw our first fawn this year on our place yesterday. I'm right there with you on the excitement
 
Cool deal man I hope you can get a better look at them next time. Maybe they'll be worth chasing and you can provide one with a dirt nap come fall.

With the 2019 ehd outbreak you and I experienced, fawns excite me this time of year as much as bucks.
 
I have been seeing lots single fawns. I have noticed that some years there are lots of twins and some not. I remember reading about this awhile back but can't recall what the cause was.

I jumped a big one (really big) in KY. He was with a smaller but just like you nothing but hoove sounds. This deer should be pretty impressive. I had a buddy hang a cam on it so maybe he'll get pics
