I thought it was an anomaly, but I think the bear has found my feeder and has decided it is for him. It took him two seconds to knock the spreader off, but I fixed it so it would easily come off instead of damaging it again. I was able to quickly put it back together today and fill it again.
The good thing is the hogs are starting to come back. The BAD thing is if the bear has been there it takes them a couple of days to come back. Doesn't seem to stop the coons and squirrels though.
I am pondering digging a bait hole on the other side of the river. The problem is the ground is almost solid rock from the strip mining. I wonder if an auger would even work to dig the bait hole?
I have my hog log over there, but I think I need to make the holes bigger since they don't seem to mess with it very much. Also I need to get some re-bar and a big sledgehammer to move it out in the field more away from so much brush.
