Kinda bummed as I sit here on the couch watching Mountain Man on the first Thanksgiving morning that I have never not been sitting in a deer stand or rabbit hunting with family. It has always been a tradition in years past but my father no longer hunts, I have no kids and my nephews have prior engagements. I feel I work so hard to provide things that my family can enjoy together that is or was a passion to all but not quite sure if it's appreciated, the leases, equipment, vacation time used etc etc.
I have hunted alone more this year than I care to and I just didn't want to do it today.....

I guess such is life, blessed to be able to do what I do but it's getting harder to enjoy alone and making me question whether its worth it or not. Sorry for the soap box on this day we all should be thankful for, I do apologize.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my TnDeer family and friends!
Enjoy your day and good luck in the woods.

Where ya located. I have no one to hunt with. Been hunting alone for years, would be nice to have a hunting buddy every now and then.

Same here I hunt alone as well ! This year I got to hunt with my little cousin! Where are you located? Happy Thanksgiving to all the good Lord has blessed us!

I too hunt alone.........however, I find serenity in just being in the woods.....It may sound like a cliché, but I really like the solitude I draw from being alone...My father past away some 6 years ago, since that time I have hunted by myself....So X-Tennessean don't get down, just go hunt and remember the good times you shared with the family......

Hope you had a good T day. I hunt alone most of the time, yes I enjoy hunting with friends too but have no complaints when it's just me and the woods. I climbed a ladder stand this morning and only saw 2 bucks slip through the bushes but no does and nothing presented a shot. Enjoyable morning anyway and I hope I can hunt every Thanksgiving morning for a good long time

I find myself alone a lot now as well, didn't use to be that way. Dad no longer hunts much and lives to far away now. My hunting buddy no longer hunts near as much. It was nice for a bit but is starting to kinda suck. No one to help do things, no one to listen for a shot from when your not seeing anything, etc. I get it !

Even if no one goes with me, I do. I enjoy the woods that much, the company much more, but I refuse to be unhappy about what others do on the day I want to go. I decided that early in my deer hunting career around 1975'ish..... 8-)

Hunting just isn't the same without someone to share the stories with... see if you can find a youngster in your church to take and teach... Both of you will be better off for it!

I certainly enjoy some hunts all by my lonesome.... but I couldn't stand it if all my hunts were by myself.
