This is the official thread for Team Run n Gunners. Here we can discuss anything involving turkey hunting... no trash talking... Share your kill pics, calls, guns, gadgets, hunting pics, etc...

Where will y'all be hunting this spring? Private, public, state, county...

As some of you know, I will be hunting Middle TN mainly on public land. Maury County especially.

Here's a teaser video...

I'll be hunting my farm in Watertown, TN. I also plan on hunting Percy Priest via boat.

Also, I have a project in Montrose, Colorado and I'm going to try to do a public land hunt there.

I'm going to be shooting archery equipment for the birds on my farm, and shotgun for the public land birds.

Doesn't archery count for additional scoring points? haha

ha, wish it did. Either way it would be a thrill with a bow, contest or not

All public land may try to get 1 bird from different wma's. I plan on hunting with Bigasports, Catman forsure and any of y'all that make it this way.

If you get the chance Ricky come on down. You know where I roll this spring.

I love the thrill of calling in an old Gobbler! With that said... We Run 'N Gunners are gonna tear up the turkey woods! So when we tag out with all those big Tom's remember we are in a contest. The other teams will tempt us to call in birds for them since people are drawn to our excellence & they are scampering to catch up to us. Be strong my friends! We will have to yield to what we are good at!

I will be hunting in Maury, Marshall, Giles, Hickman, Dickson, & Sumner counties if time allows.
Can't wait to get out there with my boys, ImThere & Catman!

Thanks TJ,Id like to see it if possible, hoping cat will post some pix of his. I have some different colored ones I made but oddly enough I dont have any laying around, I gave them all away. I like the 3 bone better for sound but everybody wants 2 bone because their a little more compact. Pretty rewarding to put the time and effort to make one then actually use it to call a tom to ya.

Here's a call I made from last years gobbler. I won't have pics of the new calls until they are finished.

Looks good, especially on that bird! Do you have trouble wrapping between the end of the bones and getting an even transition. I can never get it to look perfect?

I have trouble getting the thread to be even around both bones since they arent perfectly round.
I don't bother with making it even, just to fill out most of the gap between the bones.

Heres a couple I made for tndeer members.

Can you take a picture with 1 of those turned so I can see how the goop in the joint looks? Did you have to sand after you glued them together?

Main beam those calls are long gone. I have the black one but you cant really tell anything about it because I painted it. All the sanding is done prior to the goop. After the goop your done except for painting or wrapping. I just leave the gap that you wrap on mine.

Ok I tried some gorilla glue and it worked good after it foams up you can shape the excess glue., when its tacky
