Lets say you have muzzle loader sighted in. But for some reason you fail to get bullet seated all the way down to were it normally is when loading. Will this typically make the bullet hit higher or lower?
 
it typically could results in a burst barrel, a bulged barrel or a broken nose due to pressure spike which results in heavy recoil.

If its not seating correctly each time, pull the load and clean the bore out.
 
I would pull the load and try again. Something isn't right and I wouldn't risk shooting it out....what FG said.
 
How much difference do you have...? From full, it normal seat to where you are know, is it a modern rifle..? They can take extreme over pressure without damage. But pulling the bullet is prob the best idea...
