Dennis G told me years ago that you will receive complaints from a group of people that say you are too uptight or conservative on your site.
Then you will receive complaints that you are too liberal and are running a "soft porn" site.
He said when you get complaints from both sides, you know you are doing it right.
This site was built on, and made what it is today to a great degree, by debates.
Intelligent, well thought out debates.
No name calling was needed and when it happened it was dealt with.
There is nothing different today than it was back then except maybe a few players in the game.
Tndeer was built as a place to learn about deer hunting and then when the talk forum came about you could talk about it and oh did everyone EVER talk about it.
Fight like vols and crimson tides, but in the end it was clean and respectful.
When it wasn't a moderator took care of the issue.
No different today.
In this politically correct world we live in EVERYONE seems to be offended by something.
That is fine, whatever, I don't care.
I know a few things though.
Tndeer is and WILL BE FOREVER a family friendly site.
Talk about pretty much anything you want, but do so in a civil manner or it will be deleted.
You can call that whatever you want, but that is the way it is and that is the way it will be.
You got a beef, pm me and we will work it out to the best of my ability but in the end, if the ownership of tndeer doesn't think it needs to be on here, it won't be.
You want to be a moderator, shoot me a pm and we will talk about it but I promise you, VERY few can do that job and do it well and still enjoy tndeer.
The moderators that are in place are there for a reason and it will take quite a bit to prove to me that we were wrong in our decision making on that aspect.
If this comes off as prickish, fine, sorry about that because that is NOT what it is intended to do.
If it comes off as offensive and you don't want to post here, sorry because that is not what it is intended to do.
If it comes off as someone just saying that you keep it civil and it will stay, if you don't it won't, then you got what I was saying.
