Who's had the best luck with any of this?

Thinking of planting some on my new home tract, mostly pasture ground, but would like some for cover and to pull deer off the A--H--- thats causeing problems from next door. I know the 10 acres of corn I leave standing next year will help, along with 10 acres of beans.

I also have my hunting tract that is making me think I want a few acres in the creek bottom, seeing how the deer will not let beans grow?

I know NRSC helps my brother works for them in E TN, but just looking for real world example thats been done the past few years
here in TN

I have a switch grass field. I wasn't too impressed really with the grass itself but as long as there is cover its a big positive. Did have a bad drought the year i planted it so that could be why. I know some folks who have had much better luck than me. It has alot of goldenrod, briars, etc in it now from where i havent burned in several years. Its stuffed FULL of wildlife. The general concept of letting a field go for several years at a time is truly a wonderful thing.

Good ? landman. I am looking at putting this in as a 'bedding' field in the middle of my property. Will probably do with a grand mix of NWSG. Contact Chris Wolkonowski with NRSC. He used to go as QuailMan on this site, but have not seen him in a while. He and BSK helped us with our farm and I cannot express how much these folks can help you !!!!

Look up NRSC Tennessee on the internet!!! It will pay dividends !!!!!!

Dude, if u are looking for just a border, biColor lespedeeza is the bomb !!! We use corn as a barrier, attractant as well, but Bicolor will create a frigggin wall !!! Rocks orange sorghum will do the same (10') , but must be replanted yearly.

Ever thought about planting ur neighbor??? I have one of those too !!! They are probably brothers !!!

There are a few farmers getting contracts now in TN for switchgrass to turn into biofuels. Best I remember you have to wait until the 3rd year to have a harvestable mature product, Bout all I know of it.
