Sunflower Advice

I am a newbie to planting sunflowers. Any tips or advice? I am going to attempt to use a grain drill to do it. Thinking around 14 inch spacing at about 10 lbs acre, with depth no more than 1.5 inch?

Im debating this myself. Ive got a customer wanting about 8 acre field of them. it is in a fescue covered field. I dont know if I should work it down, and have tons of weeds, or kill it and no till them in?

Ive read alot about Clearfield Sunflowers, that you can spray with Raptor and some other products, but that stuff is pricey!!

I was going to go with blackoil, will give it a try and keep everyone posted.
