I grow strawberries and don't to anything to them this time of the year. In the spring, when they are blooming; I cover them with a tarp at night if there is a danger of frost.

Once berries start to ripen, I put a small net over my berry patch to keep birds from pecking holes in the strawberries.

I grow strawberries in a raised bed, so it is no problem to put a tarp or net over them.

I was just wondering because I saw where they said cover them this time of the year when the ground got to a certain temp.

My dad was a garden guru and he covered them with straw in the winter then just raked it to between the rows in the spring. He always grew the Best berries.
