Strangest thing found inside of a fish you kept.

Saw this on another board.So what's the strangest/craziest thing you've found inside of a fish you kept?Caught a 30# rockfish with 21 threadfin shad in its stomach,3# bass with a 12" snake,gigged a frog that had ate a baby snapping turtle.

caught 8 pound LM bass several years ago that had two plastic worms including both hooks and one weight in its belly. one worm was black and silver with red flakes in it. The other was purple with various colored flakes

Oh I just did a huge hen brookie skin mount for a customer in PA who told me it was a wild fish. He said he caught it the day the season opened for his river in PA. Its gut was full of fish food...I mean packed in like gravel full.


I forgot to photo the wad of food...but I seriously doubt this was a wild river fish as he said ... but what do I know and it paid the same so I dont really care....check out what a hog it was for a brookie

Caught a smallmouth that had a tiny mammal in its mouth. We thought it was a baby mink.

My taxidermist has a picture of a can opener and six rocks he removed from the stomach of a largemouth bass.

Haven't gutted enough fish to find anything crazy... just the usual, I can recall seeing a whole sunfish in a catfish, crawfish in some sort of bass, but those were several years ago.

Some of these stories are crazy though...

Almost same story here. I caught a rainbow that some how had passed a hook still on the line out it's butt. The line ran back into the body where I found the rest of the line with a weighton it in the intestines.

watched some guys cut open a 6' or so shark at sabastion inlet back in the 70's that had 2 tin cans a lic plate & 2 sail catfish in it,they mustive use to dump the trash in the ocean back in those days

Had a tournament back in March on Pickwick when the water got so high. Never noticed them when we took the fish out to weigh-in but the next day when I was spraying out my livewell there were 2 big rats spit up in there. Guess when the water came up it was flooding them out of boat docks and made them easy food. These were rats not mice - could've moved me up a few places and been worth a few hundred dollars if the fish would've kept them down.

Caught and cleaned some rock bass a few days ago. One of them had this coming out of its throat. I think it is a vole but it's pretty messed up. About 3 inches long, and the bass was no more than 8 inches long. Figured I could add it to this thread... lol

edit - Actually it might be a mouse... more likely that a mouse was near a logjam, since voles live under soil near living roots.

Its funny you posted this because I. Had the wildest thing happen to me back in 2004. I'd been fishing Center Hill and somehow I lost my high school graduation ring. It must have come off and fallen into the depths, anyways it was missing for several years, never thought I'd see it again. Then a friend of mine called one afternoon and told me an unbelieveble story. He'd caught a L/M Bass and found my ring in its gullet! I went straight over and sure enough there was my ring, still in pretty good shape.

I never thought I'd see that ring again.
