I haven't been out to shoot at the Stones River range since they closed Owl Hollow Gun Club down in Franklin, but I checked their site and they have an archery range. Is it worth checking out? I think it would be a good time to go shoot the .270 and then shoot the bow.

The Stones River Range is Very nice.Alot of planning went into the setup.

I hope the real-estate agenceys do not close it like they did the Dove fields at Hermitage. Enough of the important people want it closed and there will be nothing us hunters can do to keep it open. We lost the fight over that hunting land on the lake fast enough. At least Cheatham gun range is still out far enough from the subdivisions.

I'll second what WestTn said. I've seen the archery area but never shot on it so I don't recall what all is there. The gun ranges in my opinion are great. They are very safety conscious which gives me a little peace of mind when out there. They are only open Friday - Sunday though.

Awesome...I will make a big day where I will go shot my CVA Optima Elite with my .270 centerfire and .50 caliber muzzie and then go to the archery range.
