I drew a southern Florida wma turkey tag. Just wondering if anyone else had any experience on the wma. It takes about 7 points or more to draw. So it not one you will hunt every other year. the wma is called Dinner island Ranch.
If you would like to share any advice, please send me a PM.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't hunted it in years . Used to be birds everywhere out there untill FWC took controll . It's a big circle around that place so just drive alittle and listen then get to walkin. Its all open prairie with oak and palmetto heads . Beautiful place
Good luck

Crazy how hard it is to get permits down there now days. I was fortunate to draw that area the first year it was open and killed the first turkey checked out in there as a new management area. Killed several more in there the following years. Havent been in there since I moved to Tennessee 12 years ago. I know they added more acreage. Good luck!

Yes sir it was awesome in the early years. It was like a drive thru zoo back then .
It was nothing to see 200-300 pigs and big racked bucks just out strollin around . The turkey population was just unbelievable.
The good days of S Fl hunting

The goods days yes, the great days were the 80,s when there were tens of thousands of deer and pikes of hogs in the conservation areas. Nothing for a track buggy crew to kill 10 bucks in a day. Used to be a thousand or more bowhunters opening weekend in Area 3, holeyland and rotenberg with another 100 or so in Browns Farm. Man those were the days. Now browns farm is a duck pond and the deer killed in the other 3 areas was about 30 total this past season.. Used to be over 200 bucks killed in big cypress in the early 2000's. This year it was around 15. The only good hunting down there now is in those special quota areas and lucky if you get a hunt every 5 years or so. So thankful for the bounty we have here in Tennessee.
